Hi, I’m Oleksandr (Alex) Bietin, a physiotherapist with a special interest in neurological
rehabilitation. I’ve had the privilege of working in hospital and rehabilitation settings where
I’ve supported individuals recovering from stroke, traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord
injuries, and other complex neurological conditions. These experiences have taught me
that recovery is about more than just physical progress — it’s about setting meaningful
goals, staying motivated, and celebrating each step forward.
I take a goal-centered, patient-driven approach to care. I work closely with each client to
understand what’s important to them — whether it’s regaining independence, returning to
work, or simply moving with more confidence — and I tailor treatment plans that align with
those priorities. I’m also a strong believer in the value of continued rehabilitation and
always encourage clients to keep pushing toward their full potential, even after hospital
discharge.
Over the years, I’ve worked with a wide range of people, including those from rural and
underserved communities, Indigenous populations, and individuals living with substance
use disorders. I bring a trauma-informed and culturally sensitive approach to care, and I
aim to create a safe, supportive space where people feel heard and empowered.
Along with my clinical skills, I’m fluent in English, Ukrainian, and Russian languages, and I pride
myself on being a strong communicator and active listener. I believe clear, honest
communication is key to building trust and helping people feel confident in their
rehabilitation journey.
I studied Kinesiology at the University of New Brunswick, then went on to complete my
Master’s in Physiotherapy at Dalhousie University in Halifax. My time in school gave me a
strong foundation, but it’s been the hands-on experience with real people and real
challenges that’s shaped the way I practice today.
Outside of the clinic, you’ll likely find me rock climbing, hiking and exploring nature with my
wife or working on a new woodworking project. Staying active and creative helps me
recharge — and gives me a deeper appreciation for the value of movement and function in
everyday life.
Whether you’re just starting your rehab journey or looking to take the next step, I’m here to
support you with care, knowledge, and a plan that fits your goals. I look forward to working
with you.
